Make My Days
The Perfect Day Out
Go Sustainable... Go by Coach!
Coach journeys are a naturally more sustainable choice for event goers as they reduce the number of individual cars attending events - so we are proud to Go by Coach!
Make My Days cares deeply about our wider environmental impact. Therefore we are committed to reducing our company’s impact on the climate and supporting our customers & events in their sustainable aspirations.
We have therefore begun working with SustainAbility – a consultancy that helps small and medium businesses become sustainable – check out their website by clicking here.
Our Actions
MMD has worked with the SustainAbility team to understand our impact (both carbon emissions and waste) that we are responsible for, making a plan to minimise and eventually eliminate them.
We have signed up to the UN's SME Climate Hub - a public commitment to, at minimum:
✅ Halve the carbon emissions we are responsible for by 2035.
✅ Become a net zero company by 2050.
In 2023 we began our sustainability journey with a plan for addressing each of the areas where we create emissions, for example by switching to renewable energy in our office and switching printers to a more efficient model. Through this work we have therefore eliminated our "scope 2" or electricity emissions, and reduced our scope 1 emissions by over 20% in one year. We are very proud of these first steps and will continue with our plan to reduce our emissions relative to our 2022 baseline. To see our formal report please search for MakeMyDays on the SME Climate Hub.
We are also working to reduce the waste produced by our operations and the events we attend. Therefore, on all Make My Days trips, you will see recycling opportunities and options to reduce single-use materials. We are also working on our event and operational choices to reduce our carbon footprint.
We look forward to continuing to broaden these efforts and we welcome feedback on how we can continue to improve.
According to data collated and published by the BBC in 2019, travelling by coach produces extremely low amounts of CO2 and non CO2 emissions (per passenger, per km) when compared to other modes of transport such as plane, car, and even domestic rail.
